Letter: Great coach got Peabody girls to Disney World again

To the editor:

As I was putting together a scrapbook of pictures and articles on my daughter's exciting time
at the Flag Football NFL Tournament of Champions in Florida last month, it occurred to me
that I owe a long-overdue thank-you to the wonderful coach who made it all possible, Austin
Bradshaw.

I'll never forget the call from my daughter when she said her team, the Peabody Patriots,
was headed to Orlando. I thought she was joking! But lucky for us, it was no joke, but the
first step in what turned out to be a memorable and fantastic trip for a great team of girls
and their families.

My daughter, Tanya, said that Coach Bradshaw never says, "if we go to Florida," but "when
we go to Florida." And that positive attitude has worked for three years in a row, and we
were lucky enough to be part of it this year.

The Peabody Patriots Youth Flag Football team came in fifth out of 8, but you would have
thought they came in first; they were so excited and proud of their accomplishments, as they
should be! Coach Bradshaw's comment was "fifth never sounded so good!"

So thank you again, Austin, for everything you have done for these girls. I know I speak for
all of the parents when I say we truly appreciate your time, your positive motivation and, yes,
your sense of humor, too, in dealing with these unique and wonderfully crazy girls called the
Peabody Patriots!

See you next year at the Disney Wide World of Sports complex!
