Play-off Preview!!!11/27/07

In the 5-6 division 12 teams began the season and after round 1 of the play-offs only 8
teams remain, one more win for any of the remaining teams and it means a chance to play
in the divisional championship. The first game of the day this coming Saturday December
1st will be between the #1 Chiefs and #5 Colts, the two teams met back in week three when
the Chiefs beat out the Colts 24-12 but the Colts are coming of an upset win against a
higher seed in round one and will look to carry the momentum into round 2. The other AFC
match up will see the #2 Steelers take on the #3 Chargers, these teams also met in week 3
and the Steelers took the game 28-12, however the Steelers are coming of a bye week, will
the rest help or hinder the Steelers? In the NFC the #1 packers face the #4 Eagles, once
again these two teams met back in week three and the Packers won a shoot out 40-30, look
for another offensive show down this weekend. The final game in the 5-6 division will see
the #6 underdog aka the Vikings go up against the #2 Falcons. The Falcons finished the
season with the #1 offense in the division while the Vikings only won one game during the
regular season, however the Vikings are on a 2 game winning streak and after knocking of
the #3 seed are feeling confident heading into the match up.

In the
7-8 division only six teams are still standing, in the AFC the Chargers will wait to see
who will win the biggest rivalry in football, the Colts V's the Patriots. The teams went head to
head on the last week of the season and the undefeated Pats shut out the Colts 18-0,
however the Colts won their first round playoff game 18-0, hmmmm. In the NFC the Eagles
get the bye and the #4 Cowboys will face the #1 Vikings, these two teams also went head to
head on the last week of the season and the Vikings also shut out the Cowboys by a score
of 20-0, sign of things to come?

In the
9-11 division due to the amazing increase in teams three divisions have been
created which is a direct reflection on the teams performance during the year. The top two
teams from the 9-11 brackets have been grouped together to form the "A" division, the next
two teams have formed a "B" division and the last two teams have formed a "C" division.
After watching the first round of the play-offs the new brackets have been a huge success
and made for some very entertaining games.
In the
"A" division the remaining 4 teams are all 6-0 heading into this weekend, none of
the teams have faced each other during the regular season and we should see some
excellent quality of flag football, the #1 Raiders will face the #4 Vikings, the Raiders finished
the season with the #2 offense and #3 defense in the whole 9-11 division, the Vikings on
the other hand have won a championship before, but you know what they say, defense wins
championships, should make for a great game. The other match up will see the #2 Chiefs
take on the #3 Cardinals both teams have been high scoring during the season but with the
Chiefs #1 defense going up against the Cardinals #2 defense this could turn out to be a
defensive struggle.
In the
"B" division The #1 Steelers will see the #4 49ers in the semi-final, both teams
finished the season with a 3-2 record and both teams won their first round match up 27-6,
some things got to give. The #3 Chargers coming of their double overtime win in the first
round will have to carry the momentum into the game against the #2 Redskins who won their
first round game with energy to spare after a 26-13 win.
In the
"C" division the games are really getting interesting and teams are starting to put
some big numbers on the board. The first game will see the #1 Pats face of against the #5
Eagles, the Eagles did not win a regular season game but came out firing in the playoffs
and defeated the #4 seed to advance, the Patriots had trouble scoring all season but found
their rhythm in the first round and won their game 26-12. In the other game the #6 Bengals
who also did not win a game all season and had the second lowest defense will face the #2
Cowboys, the Bengals won their first game 46-38 and it looks like they are going have to
score big against the Cowboys if they want to cause another upset and move on to the
Championship game.

In the
12-14 division all the teams are playing for a chance to be a part of the divisional
championships. In the AFC the #1 Colts will face the #4 Vikings, the Colts were the only
team in the 12-14 division to go undefeated, however the Vikings tied 20-20 back in week
one of the season, with the Colts coming of a bye week what will happen this time around?
The other AFC game will be the #2 Steelers playing the #3 Chiefs, the two teams have not
met yet this season but look to be evenly matched as both teams finished 4-1, both teams
scored over 200 points and both teams lost to the Colts, not much separating these two
teams. In the NFC the #1 Cowboys will go up against the #4 49ers, the two teams last saw
each other week 5 of the season and after a close game the entire way the Cowboys edged
out winners 56-32 it was a closer game than the score indicates, can the 49ers keep it
together this time around? The final game of the day will be the #2 Bears against the #3
Redskins, the teams both finished the season 4-1 however the Bears won a barn burner
48-40 over the Redskins back in week 4, were looking forward to another shoot out in the
12-14 division.

Good luck to all the teams remaining in the playoffs and remember every team that reaches
at least the AFC or NFC Championship game will receive a trophy or a medal for your
achievements. Play hard but play fair don't loose your focus and remember what got you
into the playoffs. Show respect and good sportsmanship to the other team and have fun!!!
